Marie I. (Turner) Atchley

Marie I. Atchley, age 95, of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Ottawa Pavilion.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 6th at Gladfelter – Roetker Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Marseilles.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.

Marie was born August 2, 1923 in Farm Ridge, Illinois, a daughter of William G. and Agnes (Frantzen) Turner.  She married Walter Atchley June 20, 1942 in Palmyra, Missouri, He preceded her in death April 27, 2001.  Marie is survived by her children, Ronald L. Atchley of Streator and Dixie DeFoer of Spring Valley; granddaughter, Regina (Ron) Domkuski of Spring Valley; great-grandsons, Sean and James Domkuski; step-grandchildren, Don and Tayler Godfrey; sister-in-law, Claire Shaver of Morris; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a grandson, Donald DeFoer; brothers, Arthur and Harold Turner; and a sister, Helen Arentsen.

Marie was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church in Ottawa.  She was a retired employee of Owens Illinois.  Marie enjoyed craft projects, traveling all over the United States and enjoyed retired life in Florida for thirteen years.  Most important to Marie was her loving family whom she cherished spending time with.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
