OTTAWA - Marian E. Yarger, 92, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010 at her residence. Private graveside services will be held 10:a.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Monday, February 1, 2010 from 4 - 7 p.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home. Mrs. Yarger was born June 25, 1917 at Ottawa, Illinois, a daughter of Jesse and Emma Sophie (Bjurgstrom) Bravick. She married Howard Yarger on January 7, 1950 in Ottawa. He preceded her in death June 3, 1998. She is survived by a son, Ronald (Kathy) Yarger of Ottawa; a sister, Dorothy Dowdle of Monticello, Illnois; a brother in-law, James Prevot of Ottawa; two granddaughters, Lisa (Jim) O'Brien and Laura Yarger both of Ottawa; one great granddaughter, Emma O'Brien; a nephew, Lonnie R. Prevot; and three nieces, Linda Redmond, Sandra Just, and Kim (Bruce) Waite. She was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin and a sister, Gladys Prevot. Marian was a member of Local 19 Glassworkers. She retired after 49 years of service to Libbey-Owens Ford. She was active in the Ottawa Women's Bowling League and was a member of the Women's Hall of Fame. From 1950 to the mid 1960's she was known as the "Queen of Ottawa Womens Bowling". She dearly loved her family, particularly her granddaughters and great granddaughter.
