Margaret E. Greene

OTTAWA - Margaret E. Greene, age 80, of Ottawa, passed away at 5:19 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the Ottawa Pavilion. A celebration of her life will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Gladfelter Funeral Home. Interment will be in Summitview Cemetery at a later date. Margaret was born April 28, 1930 at Zottwitz, Germany, a daughter of Ernest Herman and Hedwig (Michalick) Wiche. She married George Greene in 1950 in Germany. He preceded her in death May 6, 1972. Surviving are her children, Ralph (Eva) Greene of Glascow, KY, Lisa (Gene) Martin, Larry Greene and Thomas Greene all of Ottawa; a sister, Hilda (Hans) Much of Wennigsen, Germany; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her parents and a son, George Greene, Jr. preceded her in death. Margaret was a retired nurses aide at Pleasant View Luther Home and Highland (Ottawa Pavilion). She enjoyed traveling. Most of all, she enjoyed her family and telling remembrances of her life during World War II to her grandchildren.
