Margaret C. Defenbaugh

Margaret C. "Maggie" Defenbaugh, age 87, of Rhinelander, Wisconsin, formerly of Ottawa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2008, at Taylor Park Nursing Home in Rhinelander. Funeral services will be held Noon Saturday, June 21, 2008, at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Father John Crist officiating. Inurnment will be in Oakwood Memorial Park at a later date. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to time of service Saturday Maggie was born March 20, 1921, in Ottawa, Illinois, the daughter of Leslie A. and Margaret (Mann) Tingle. She married Loran Defenbaugh on December 23, 1939, in Crown Point, Indiana. He preceded her in death December 25, 1986. She worked at and retired from Owens Illinois Glass in Streator. She was active in the V.F.W. Auxiliary, A.A.R.P., the Women of the Moose and was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. Maggie is survived by a son, Ronald (Ruth) Defenbaugh of Ottawa; a daughter, Diane (Jim) Voborsky of Rhinelander; five granddaughters, Anita (Kevin) Torgerson, Terry (Kevin) Brehm, Maggie (Sean) Walker, Marcy (Bob) Carrera and Ronda (Jon) Grigalunas as well as six great-grandchildren and extended family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Dawn Voborsky. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pet Project at the Grand Ridge, Illinois Animal Shelter in Maggie's name.
