Marcella "Bunny" (Marek) Hertzner

OTTAWA – Marcella “Bunny” Hertzner, age 93, of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at her home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Father Corey Krengiel officiating.  Burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning at the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be Thor and Casey Rick, Tom Killelea, Mark Novakovich, Ricky Hertzner, and Lakota Meagher.  Honorary pallbearer will be Ray Draper.

Marcella was born September 28, 1923 in Ottawa, the daughter of Philip and Pauline (Haage) Marek.  She married Donald “Joe” Hertzner June 12, 1943 in Ottawa.  He preceded her in death June 9, 1999.  Marcella is survived by her daughter, Lorry Hertzner, of Ottawa; her special nieces, Marla, Vickie, and Connie; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by brothers, Gaylon Marek and Tom Marek; and four sisters, Bertha Hertzner, Marian Timm, Geraldine Alsvig, and Shirley Aldrich.

Marcella’s special interests included crocheting and sewing.  She also was an avid local sports fan.  Holidays were always a special time for Marcella.  She was devoted to her family and always treasured her time spent with them.  Marcella will be greatly missed by all who cared for her.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Pet Project.
