Lulu May Tuntland

Lulu "Bessie" Tuntland, age 82, of Marseilles, passed away Monday, October 27, 2008 at Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet. Memorial services will be held 3:30 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to service time Saturday. Gladfelter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Lulu "Bessie" Tuntland was born May 26, 1926 at Harding, Illinois, a daughter of Ernest Floyd and Lulu (Sibert) Keith. She married Armon Tuntland June 27, 1945 at Ottawa. She is survived by her husband, Armon of Marseilles; her children, Larry (Pat) Tuntland of Greenville, Tennessee, Duane (Sue) Tuntland and Cindy (Bob) Sprowls of Ottawa, Karen (Doug) Strahl of Madisonville, Kentucky, Stephen Tuntland of Kabul, Afghanistan, Kevin (Cecilia) Tuntland of Shabbona, Illinois and Brad (Suzanne) Tuntland of Marseilles. She also leaves eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Mrs. Tuntland was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Ottawa. Bessie was a farm wife. She dearly loved her family and had enjoyed gardening. She was a homemaker and could be found sewing and crocheting, even after loss of her vision.
