Luis M. Jimenez, Sr., age 83, of Ottawa, died Sunday, April 30, 2006, at Community Hospital of Ottawa. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Columba Catholic Church with the Rev. Ron Dodd as the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with a rosary at 7 p.m. Mr. Jimenez was born June 22, 1922, in San Juan de Los Lagos, Jalisco, Mexico, to Fortino and Eleuteria (Marquez) Jimenez. He married Leonor Madrid on June 26, 1943, in Aguascalientes, Ags., Mexico. He worked at the Brickton Brick Factory and retired from Burlington Northern Railroad and was a member of the railroad Brotherhood of Maintenance Way of Employees Union. He was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife; six daughters, Blanca "Gloria" (Donald) Holcomb, Yolanda (Jerry) Gibson Sr., Marian (James) Sibert, Rose "Mona" (Andres) Castillo and Tammy (Troy) Hill all of Ottawa and Alicia (Olegario "Gary") Facio of Mendota; a son, Luis, Jr. (Wendy) of Ottawa; 21 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; a sister, Tomasa Reyna of Mexico; and a brother, Antemio Jimenez of Mexico. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Juanita Telfer; a grandson; and two brothers, Pedro and Tomas Jimenez. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Pedro Ramirez Jr., Roger Thomas Jr., Tito, Michael and Jeremy Sibert, Beto Arellano and Luis Jimenez III and great grandson, James Sibert III. Memorial may be directed to the family.
