Luella M. Onofrey

Luella M. Onofrey, age 92, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at the LaSalle County Nursing Home.

Honoring Luella's wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Private interment will be in Oakwood Memorial Park.

Luella was born September 3, 1932 in Streator, Illinois to Florence (Beckendorf) Fick. She married Michael Onofrey, Jr. September 30, 1950 in Ottawa. Luella is survived by her son, Robert Onofrey of Ottawa as well as several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Michael; brothers Ralph and James Fick and sisters Marcella Weygand and Diane Wilkins.

Luella retired from Pilkington Glass. She was a hard worker who enjoyed raising tomatoes and peppers and a variety of flowers. Luella was a great cook and known for her tortellini and perogies. An avid golfer, she enjoyed playing Dayton Ridge and other area courses with her late friend Annie McGinnis. Luella was also known to enjoy a Bloody Mary or Manhattan when dining out!
