OTTAWA - Lucille Willey, age 96, of Ottawa, passed away at 3:12 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2011. Memorial services will be held Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home. Her son will give the eulogy. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Lucille was born May 4, 1915 in Hunter, North Dakota, a daughter of Albert Ray and Eva (Fiske) Duffield. She married Walter E. Willey in 1942 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. He preceded her in death in 1980. She is survived by her son, Walter R. and Marie Bartels Willey of Santa Fe, New Mexico; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Johnson of Springfield, Missouri and Mrs. Robert (Rae Louise) Lunn of Denver, Colorado; four grandchildren, Corey Willey, Micah Thomas, Chance Connor Willey, and Merit Aisling Willey; and two great grandchildren, Aubrey and Olivia Willey. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lori Thomas. Lucille was a graduate of Pleasant View Lutheran College. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ottawa. While her son was growing up she was involved in Boy Scouts, serving as den mother. She was also active in and served as secretary in the Women's Amateur Bowling Congress. Her hobbies included golf and playing cards, bridge and poker being two of her favorite card games. "She loved well and was well loved." Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated to a charity at a later date.
