Lloyd Dale Peterson

April 14, 1916 — July 1, 2006

Lloyd Dale Peterson, 90, of Ottawa, died Saturday, July 1, 2006, at Pleasant View Luther Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Deming and Pastor Jeffrey Hutchings officiating. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Mr. Peterson was born April 14, 1916, in Wallace Township, to John and Lena Bertha (Krug) Peterson. He married Harriett Alto (Dahlem) Morris on April 26, 1941, in Ottawa. She died November 8, 2005. He worked at the Kankakee Ordinance Plant during World War II. He then worked at Libbey-Owens-Ford for over 41 years retiring in 1978. He attended the Ottawa First Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by two daughters, Janet (Gabe) Abene of Plano, Texas and Mary (Ralph) Deming of Ottawa; a granddaughter, Amber Renee (Jeffrey) Hutchings of Siloam Springs, Ark.; two great grandchildren, Andrew and Josephine Hutchings; and a sister, Leola Orres of Ottawa. A brother, Clair; and a sister, Evelyn Bailey, preceded him in death. Memorials may be directed to the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago or to Pleasant View Luther Home.
