Lillian I. (Liming) Swift

OTTAWA – Lillian I. Swift, age 95, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012, at her home.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Bladen officiating.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso, Illinois.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. Saturday to service time at Gladfelter Funeral Home.

Lillian was born March 14, 1917 in El Paso, Illinois, a daughter of James W. and Mary A. (Neaves) Liming.  She married Louis B. Waters December 23, 1937 in Hudson, Illinois.  He preceded her in death October 1, 1959.  She later married Gilbert E. Swift October 24, 1965 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He preceded her in death October 8, 1987.  She is survived by a son, John L. Waters of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; two daughters, June M. Taylor-Stokes of Virginia and Ann Hacker of Urbana, Illinois; as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

Lillian lived in Ottawa since November 1965 and wintered in Florida since 1978.  She was a member of Ottawa A.A.R.P. and Neighborhood Watch.  She was also a lifetime member of International Grapho-Analysis, Inc. of Chicago.  She was very active and a trustee for A.F.S.C.M.E.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Ottawa A.A.R.P. or Neighborhood Watch.
