Lida Clara Snook, 80, of Ottawa, formerly of Nettle Creek Township, rural Morris, died Tuesday, October 2, 2007, in Morris Hospital. Mass of Christian burial will be 12 o'clock noon Saturday at St. Columba Catholic Church with the Rev. Ron Dodd officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with liturgical prayers at 4 p.m. Mrs. Snook was born April 13, 1927, in Ottawa, to Mark and Lida Marie (Vickers) Mohkovic. She married Walter H. Snook on February 18, 1947, at St. Columba Catholic Church. She and her husband farmed in Wisconsin, Ottawa, Kentucky and Nettle Creek Township near Morris their entire married life. She was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church and was an election judge in Nettle Creek Township. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Linda (Samuel) Hallam and Lois (Mike) Haage of Ottawa; a son Larry (Gloria) Snook; eight grandchildren, Thomas and Shane Hallam, Robert and Paul Snook, Tarni Tarr, Matthew and Susan Haage and Laura Burkhead; ten great grandchildren; and two sisters, Anna Morrell and Margaret (Tom) Thompson both of Ottawa. A sister, Lucille Moore; and a brother, Russell Mohkovic, preceded her in death. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Thomas and Shane Hallam, Robert and Paul Snook, Matthew Haage and Jesse Burkhead. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
