Lewis B. Clarkson

MT. WOLF, PA - Lewis B. Clarkson, 88, formerly of Ottawa, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009 at York Hospital in York, PA. He was the husband of Lucy J. (Martin) Clarkson. The couple celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on August 31st. Services were held at York, PA. Entombment will take place privately at Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa, IL. Local arrangements are being handled by Gladfelter Funeral Home. Mr. Clarkson was born in Botetourt County Virginia on June 30, 1921, a son of the late Elmer and Ethel (Lavender) Clarkson. He worked for Snap-On Tools in Illinois. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Dover, PA and served in the U.S. Merchant Marines during WWII. Along with his wife, Mr. Clarkson leaves two sons, Louis Clarkson of Streator, IL and Bill Clarkson of Huntington AL; three daughters, Sandra Clarkson of Mt. Wolf, PA, Connie Stithe of Lake Head. Florida, and Sharon Westman of Hot Springs, AK; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and three brothers, Malcolm Clarkson of Oregon, Ed Clarkson of Louisiana, and Bill Clarkson of North Carolina.
