Leonor M. Jimenez

OTTAWA - Leonor M. Jimenez, 86, of Ottawa, passed away Monday, November 29th, at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 1st, at St. Columba Catholic Church with Reverend David M. Kipfer celebrating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. till 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gladfelter Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Roger Thomas, Jr., Luis Jimenez III, James E. Sibert III, Pedro Ramirez, Jr., Kelly Thomas, and Jesse Arellano. Leonor was born February 12, 1924 in Texas, a daughter of Sylvestre and Altagracia (Escobar) Madrid. She married Luis M. Jimenez, Sr. June 26, 1943 in Mexico. He preceded her in death in April of 2006. She is survived by her children, Blanca "Gloria" (Don) Holcomb, Yolanda "Londy" (Jerry) Gibson, and Marian (James) Sibert all of Ottawa, Alicia (Olegario "Gary") Facio of Mendota, Luis (Wendy) Jimenez, Jr. of Dayton, Illinois, Rose "Mona" (Andres) Castillo and Tammy (Troy) Hill, both of Ottawa. Also surviving are her sisters, Maria (Arturo) Velasco of Ottawa, Amparo Munoz of Mexico; many grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Juanita Telfer; and one grandson. Leonor was a member of St. Columba Church. She enjoyed crocheting and cherished time spent with her family.
