MARSEILLES – Larry Wayne Lampson, age 75, of Marseilles, passed away Saturday morning, January 27, 2018, at his home.
Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Reverend Duane Kaufman officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the Ottawa American Legion Post 33 Veterans Group Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
Larry was born May 18, 1942 in Aurora, the son of Wayne and Audrey (Treest) Lampson. He married Marlene Ferguson-Scarber on September 1, 1988 in Davenport, IA. Surviving are his wife, Marlene, of Marseilles; his children, Bruce (Sandra) Lampson of Mendota and Laura Vahl of Mahomet, IL; his stepchildren, Helen Seibert of Marseilles, Richard (Mindy) Scarber of Earlville, and Joseph and Thomas Scarber, both of Marseilles; eight grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; one great grandchild; brothers, Dave (Charlotte) Lampson, Dennis (Donna) Lampson, Kevin (Angie) Lampson all of Paw Paw, IL, Richard (Melanie) Lampson of Ottawa; sister, Penny (Bob) Johnson of Marseilles and Susie Milton of Paw Paw, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Tommy Bennett and Jim Lampson.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was retired from Wedron Silica. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
