Katherine Marie Machetta

Katherine Machetta, 90, of Naplate, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Pleasant View Luther Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Naplate with The Rev. Steven P. Loftus officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at Gladfelter Funeral Home with a Rosary at 4 p.m. Mrs. Machetta was born August 8, 1916 in Marseilles to Cesere and Mary (Meglianti) Castelli. She married James M. Machetta Sr. on April 18, 1937, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marseilles. He died October 22, 1986. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Naplate and the Altar and Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of America. She is survived by two sons, James M. Jr. (Jolene) of Minooka and Ronald G. (Shirlee) of Spring, Texas; six grandchildren, Steven, David, Cris, Sally, Gregg and Gary; and nine great grandchildren. A sister, Amelia Castelli and RoseVicini, preceded her in death. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
