Karen Sue (Gabehart) Morse

MARSEILLES – Karen Sue Morse, 68, of Marseilles, passed away Saturday morning, May 4, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.

Memorial services will be held Friday, May 10, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Reverend Philip Peterson officiating.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. Friday until service time at the funeral home.

Karen was born March 4, 1945 in Marseilles, the daughter of Walter and Lettie (Elliott) Gabehart.  She married Lawrence E. Morse September 24, 1966 in Marseilles.  He preceded her in death June 28, 2004.  Karen is survived by her children, Glenda (Scott) Eike of Norway and Shawn (Pam) Morse of Marseilles; two brothers, Donald Gabehart and Deeann of Ottawa and Charles Gabehart and Bonnie of Marseilles; three sisters, Cathrine Roaldson of Washington State, Christine (Joe) Witworth of Nashville TN, and Bernice (Bob) Bottoms of Ottawa; two grandchildren, Melony and Michael Morse; and her special friend, James Wheeler of Marseilles.  She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Lawrence A. “Tony” Morse and Tracy A. Morse; one brother, James “Sonny” Gabehart; and one sister, Rosie Gabehart.

Karen enjoyed traveling and camping in her motor home, especially out West.  Her hobbies included carving, crafts, and feeding hummingbirds.  She cherished her family and friends and loved her time spent with them, especially during the holidays.
