Joseph R. Pickett Ii

OTTAWA - Joseph R Pickett, 81 of Ottawa, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 31, 2018 surrounded by his family.

Calling hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at Reed Funeral Home on 705 Raff Road SW in Canton, Ohio. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Joseph was born May 5, 1936 in Tarentum, PA., the son of Joseph Pickett Sr. and Ruth (Kipp) Ritenour.  Joseph married Helen Mae Moore on June 21, 1958 in Canton, Ohio where they spent the next 58 years, moving to Ottawa in 2017.

He was employed by Danner Press in Canton, Ohio for 40 years, retiring in 1998.

He is survived by his wife Helen; his loving daughter Pam (Jim) Ceja of Ottawa; his 4 grandkids, Joseph Ceja of Mesa, AZ., Lindsey Ceja, Jimmy Ceja and Leighann (Lee) Follis of Ottawa; his sister Ruth Griglione of Ottawa; and several nieces and nephews.  Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Joseph Ray Pickett III; two brothers, Arthur Pickett and Jesse Pickett; and one sister, Shirley Rogers.

He was a hard worker that loved fishing, his Ford truck, and spending time with his grandchildren.
