Jodie L. Mosell

September 2, 1974 — February 12, 2025

Jodie L. Mosell, 50, of Ottawa, passed away on February 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 2, 2025 from 1-5 p.m. at the VFW in Ottawa.

Jodie was born on September 2, 1974, in Ottawa, IL, the daughter of James and Betty (Sibert) Hardy. She married Richard Mosell on July 25, 1998, in Ottawa. Jodie worked as a CNA at Rivershores Nursing Home until her health declined and she was no longer able to. Jodie's personality and perseverance didn't keep her from working as she picked up work with Doordash. She was one who was always on the move, genuinely loved being around people and was always willing to help in any way she could. Jodie enjoyed going on motorcycle rides and attending concerts. She adored her fur babies Harley and Opie. More than anything she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids who were her pride and joy. She will be remembered for many reasons but especially for the courageous battle she fought with her illness. Jodie will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Jodie is survived by her husband, Richard; children, Zack (fiancé Jordan Drysdale) Mosell, Marissa (fiancé Jonathan Rosalez) Mosell, and Zoey Mosell; brother, Patrick Hardy; sister, Jamie (Tracy) Mix; stepchildren, and grandkids, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, James "Big Jim" Hardy; father-in-law, Randy Mosell Sr.; and brother-in-law, Randy Mosell Jr.
