James V. O'Hara

James Vincent O'Hara, 77, of Ottawa, Ill., died early Saturday morning, July 7, 2007, at the Ottawa Pavilion. Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28th, in the front lawn of the Allamakee County Court House, Waukon, Iowa, with the Veterans of Foreign Wars in charge of the services and a flag folding ceremony. Mr. O'Hara was born January 9, 1930, in Waukon, Iowa, to Joseph Leo and Catherine Loretta (Ryan) O'Hara. He married Mabel Ann Radick on June 20, 1954, in Markham, Ill. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He retired from the Village of Riverdale, Ill., water department Aug 8, 1988, and was a volunteer Fireman in Riverdale for 18 years. He was a charter member the St. George Dixie Utah Elks Lodge, No 1743 and the Ottawa American Legion Post 33. He is survived by his wife, Mabel; a sister, Kathryn Scudella of Oaklawn, Ill.; two brothers, John (Jennie) of Decorah, Iowa and Kenneth (Shirley) of Waukon, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Schwartz and Dorothy Zeimet; and two brothers, Donald and Robert.
