OTTAWA - James A. "Jim" Hunt, age 61, of Hanover, Illinois, formerly of Ottawa, passed away Monday, November 7, 2011 at his residence in Hanover. Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church with Pastor Tim Johnson officiating. Entombment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at Elwood, Illinois. Gladfelter Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Jim was born April 15, 1950 at Herrin, Illinois, a son of Frank and Jeanette (Jacovik) Hunt. He married Jennifer Hawkins, she preceded in death August 24, 2008. Jim is survived by a daughter, Melanie Haff of Darien; grandchildren, Sierra and Dakotah "Cody" Haff and John Trimarco; a half brother, Sam; and an aunt, Mary Jane Stewart. A daughter, Meghan Anna Hunt, a brother, Tom Hunt and a niece Tia Hunt preceded him in death. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and had been employed at Farm and Fleet in Ottawa. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Bureau County AMVETS and had been active with the Ottawa Police Auxiliary. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
