James E. Budach

OTTAWA – James E. Budach, age 76, of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday morning, August 12, 2014, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Ottawa, with Pastor Nancy Rethford officiating.  Burial will follow in Summitview Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gladfelter Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:45 p.m. conducted by Reverend David M. Kipfer.  Pallbearers will be Blake Wolfe, Tony Schiabley, Andrew, Billy, and Joel Davis, and Mike Budach.  Honorary pallbearers will be John Budach Sr., John Budach Jr., Alicia and Justin Budach, Sean Walker, and Ron Cole.

Jim was born August 26, 1937 in Ottawa, the son of Ernest and Julia (Mitchell) Budach.  He married Fredricka Funk August 17, 1963 at the St. Columba Rectory in Ottawa.  Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Fredricka, of Ottawa; his children, June (Ron) Davis of Lafayette, IN and James M. (Amy) Budach of Ottawa; his grandchildren, Andrew, Billy and Joel Davis and Alicia and Justin Budach; and two great grandchildren, Olivia and Matt Davis.  He was preceded in death by one brother in infancy and one grandson, Christian Davis.

Jim was a member of the First United Methodist Church.  He loved farming and traveling.  He was devoted to his family and cherished his time spent with them on the family farm.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Grand Ridge Fire Department or the First United Methodist Church of Ottawa.
