Howard "Howdy" "Hoots" Farrell, age 64, of Marseilles, passed away Friday, November 28, 2008 at his daughter's home. Funeral services honoring his life will be held 11:00 a,m, Thursday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Nick and Joel Blacklaw, Steve and Ron Calloway, Richard Rieuf and George Adams. Howard was born April 4, 1944 at Ottawa, a son of Thomas and Eva (Midnight) Farrell. He married Sharon Frye August 3, 1963 at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa. She preceded him in death June 20, 1990. He is survived by a daughter, Tammy (Dave) Blacklaw of Marseilles; two grandchildren, Nick (Michelle) Blacklaw and Joel Blacklaw and two sisters, Donna (Raymond) Williams of Ottawa and Wilma Farrell of Streator. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur, Glen and Thomas Farrell and five sisters, Ella Mae Sibert, Stella Angel, Norine Howell Farrell, Minerva Farrell and Carol Dennis. Mr. Farrell was a retired glazer for Local 1164. He was a member of the Ottawa Moose Lodge. Howard dearly loved his family, particularly his grandchildren and his dog, Wren.
