Gertrude LuElla LeRette, 94, of Ottawa died Monday, January 21, 2008, at Ottawa Pavilion. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Rev. Polly Klimson of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Gladfelter Funeral Home. Mrs. LeRette was born May 3, 1913, in Kansas City, Mo., to William H. and Mattie (Woodrow) Benwa. She married Lester L. LeRette, Sr., on June 18, 1932, in Ottawa. He died November 13, 1973. She was a homemaker and past president of Ottawa Senior Citizens Club, a member of AARP, and the Dayton Women's Club and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ottawa. She is survived by a daughter, Martha (Glenn) Sheedy of Streator, Ill.; two sons, Lester (Cheryl) LeRette, Jr. of Ottawa and Martin (Jan) LeRette of LaSalle; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren. Two daughters, Norma Jean Hott and Dorothy Paulsen, preceded her in death. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church, 100 Jefferson Street, Ottawa, IL 61350.
