Georgia Lynn (Heth) Stohr

RURAL MENDOTA – Georgia Lynn Stohr, age 42, of rural Mendota, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.

Memorial services celebrating her life will be held Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. at Crossbridge Community Church, 4161 Columbus Street, Ottawa, with Pastor Kevin Donoho and Pastor Sherry Stevenson officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the church.  Gladfelter Funeral Home is honored to serve the Stohr family.

Georgia was born September 18, 1972 in Ottawa, the daughter of George William and Rita Claire (Burke) Heth.  She married Jeffrey Elmer Stohr July 4, 1992 at the First Baptist Church in Ottawa.  Surviving are her husband, Jeff, of rural Mendota; her children, Ryan and Jacob Stohr, both at home; her mother, Rita Heth of Marseilles; her brothers, Robert “Kip” (Ollie) Heth of Carthage, Missouri and Tim (Sherri) Heth of Peoria; her sister, Lisa (Dennis) Heth Coon of Sheridan; and her sister in-law, Sheila (Engel) Heth of Princeton.  She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Michael Heth.

Georgia was a teacher at La Salle-Peru High School from 1994 to the present.  She taught Freshman Honors English I Classes, British Literature, and Yearbook I, II, III, and IV.  She was also involved with the La Salle-Peru High School Yearbook Club, the Journalism Team as well as the Teacher Evaluation Committee since inception.  She had also been a member of the School Improvement Team.  Georgia was a member of the First Baptist Church and attended Crossbridge Community Church in Ottawa.  She was a nature lover which was exhibited by her passion for gardening and landscaping.  She was also a key member of the Operation Promise Program.  Georgia was a devoted wife and mother and cherished her time spent with her family.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the family for the establishment of the Georgia Stohr Memorial Scholarship Fund.
