Genevieve L. Manchess

Genevieve L. Manchess, age 87, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday at her residence. Memorial services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday January 10, 2009 at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Rev. David M. Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from Noon to 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Genevieve was born July 22, 1921 at Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of John and Adelina (Malone) Patete. She married James Peter Manchess June 21, 1950, he preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Joseph and Ron Manchess of Ottawa; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Manchess was a retired nurse's aid working on the maternity ward of LaGrange Hospital, LaGrange, IL. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Minooka. She was a member of Bridges Senior Center, Ottawa and had been president of the senior center in Bridgeview, IL. Genevieve, in her spare time, could be found bowling, playing bingo, gardening or working with ceramics. She enjoyed life and dearly loved her family and friends.
