Fredrik "Hunter" Nimke

Fredrik "Hunter" Nimke, 5 months old, of Ottawa, died Wednesday, May 16th, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Philip Halfacre officiating. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Gladfelter Funeral Home. He was born December 12, 2006, in Ottawa at Community Hospital of Ottawa, to Fredrik Martin and Angela Christine (Roth) Nimke. He is survived by his parents; maternal grandparents, Bud and Karen Roth of Ottawa; paternal grandparents, Fred and Lori Nimke of McNabb and Katie Myhre of Streator; great maternal grandparents Dean and Lois Sweetwood of Ormond Beach, Florida, and Jack and Ruth Roth of Ottawa; great paternal grandmother, Marilyn Nimke of Streator; and great-great maternal grandmother, Ann Kuglich of Florida; two aunts, Sarah Nimke of Bloomington, Illinois, and Laura Nimke of Rochester, New York; and two uncles, John Scullans of Streator, and Matt Roth of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandmother, Katherine Snook; and his paternal great-grandfather, Marty Nimke. Pallbearers will be Jose Granados, Brian Wonders, Matt Roth, Rob Rosario, Matt Hastings, John Roth, Bob Aussem, and John Scullans. Hunter will always be with us. During his 5 months on Earth, his smiling face brought joy and happiness to all who knew and loved him. He was a smart, happy, beautiful baby who found amazement in everything. His parents made the unselfish and heroic decision to donate his organs so that other babies will get a second chance at life. Hunter will never be forgotten. He lives on in the hearts of his family and friends who were blessed by his life. Hunter will be loved and missed forever.
