Frank C. Scerini, 87, of Ottawa, died Sunday, August 20, 2006, in the emergency room at Community Hospital of Ottawa. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with the Rev. Gerald J. Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday. Mr. Scerini was born May 21, 1919, in Eden Township, La Salle County, to James and Josephine (Vercelloti) Scerini. He married Anne Terese Vidmar on June 27, 1946 in Ottawa. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army. He retired from Libbey-Owens-Ford after 42 years of employment. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Frank Jr. (Marge) of Las Vegas and Donald of Ottawa; a daughter, Ellen Scerini of Ottawa; and two grandsons, Aaron and Adam Scerini. Two brothers, Wilbur "Bill" and Joseph; and a sister, Marie Eutis, preceded him in death. Memorials may be directed to the family.
