Frances Eileen Christensen

Frances Eileen Christensen, age 79, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday at Pleasant View. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Philip Halfacre celebrating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 3:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Brian, Mark, Steve, Benjamin and Abigail Christensen and Kevin Chiavario. Honorary pallbearers will be Zachary Christensen, Jodi Bonnell and Jayne Olson. Frances was born August 3, 1929 in Ottawa, a daughter of Robert and Ella (O'Donnell) Murry. She married Russell Christensen July 16, 1949 at St. Columba Church in Ottawa. He preceded her in death September 30, 1984. She is survived by her children, Larry (Karen) Christensen and Dale (Paula) Christensen of Ottawa, Joan (Kenneth) Chiavario of Leland, Alan (Carole) Christensen of Naperville and Don (Ronda) Christensen of Marseilles. She also leaves a brother, James D. (Dolores) Murry of Ottawa; grandchildren, Jayne (Michael) Olson, Jodi (Jamie) Bonnell, Kevin (Amy) Chiavario, Brian Christensen and fiance Nina Nevins, Mark Christensen, Steve (Michelle) Christensen, Benjamin, Abigail and Zachary Christensen. Great grandchildren Zeta, Skylar and Tara Olson, Aubrey Chiavario and Isabella Christensen also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Lawrence and Robert Murry, a sister, Alice Reavley and a grandson, Nathan Christensen Mrs. Christensen was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She retired in 1995 as administrative secretary for the LaSalle County Housing Authority. Frances spent her time with family and volunteering for St. Patrick Church and School, Marquette High School and playing the piano for various functions at Pleasant View.
