Evelyn M. Buehler

OTTAWA – Evelyn M. Buehler, age 90, of Ottawa, passed away Monday, November 4, 2013 at Ottawa Pavilion.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ottawa with Reverend David Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning at the church. Gladfelter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Buehler was born June 21, 1923 in Ottawa to Fred and Maude (Snedden) Buehler. She is survived by a sister, Elsie (Richard) Rice of McHenry (formerly of Ottawa); two nephews, James (Barb) Rice of Broken Arrow OK and Jerry (Nancy) Rice of Cary IL; and two nieces, Judith (Charles) Love of Kankakee and Julie (Paul) Strehl of Tonica. Also surviving are several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Arthur John Buehler.
Evelyn was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company, from which she never missed a day of work. She was a member of the Altar Guild and took care of the atrium plants and flowers for many years. She loved roses. Her hobbies included decorating, golfing, and sewing.
