Eric Richard Hillyer

Eric Richard Hillyer, 27, of Long Point, formerly of Ottawa, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at his home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with the Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. Mr. Hillyer was born August 31, 1979, in Ottawa, to Gary Allen. Hillyer and Linda Ann (Maltas) Hackler. He attended Ottawa Grade School and graduated from Marseilles Grade School. He attended Streator Woodland High School. He was employed at Flink Company in Streator. He was a member of the Metro Amusement Dart League. He is survived by his parents; Gary and Nancy Hillyer of Long Point and Jeff and Linda Hackler of Ottawa; a daughter, Brittany Ann of Streator; a son, Dylan of Flanagan; a brother, Ryan of Morris; three step-brothers, Grant Hackler of Oglesby, James Dutko of Long Point and Earl (Amy) Dutko of Streator; five nephews, his paternal grandmother, Gertrude Hillyer of Benton, IL, paternal step-grandmother, Katherine Pottinger of Streator and maternal step-grandparents, Alvin and Shirley Hackler of Ottawa and maternal step-grandfather , Ralph Toftoy of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Arnold Maltas and Joan Toftoy; paternal grandfather, Alvin Hillyer. Pallbearers will be A.J. and Tony Mueller, Stanley Duda, Kenny Eutsey, Rob and Todd Carpenter. Memorials may be directed to the family.
