Eleanor Jane Barnes, 85, of Ottawa, died Friday, February 9, at Pleasant View Luther Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Chaplain Kerwin Sletto of Pleasant View Luther Home officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Barnes was born February 16, 1921, in Williamsburg, Iowa, to Walter and Lottie (Lyons) Durr She married William "Jack" Wallace Barnes, May 13, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He died December 20, 2003. She is survived by four sons, Bill (Lynette Crockett) of Ottawa, Jack of Birmingham, Ala., Dennis of Deming, New Mex. and Paul (Caroline) of Birmingham, Ala.; four grandchildren, Rebecca Viola of Orlando, Fla., Brandon (Melissa) Mumaugh of Marseilles, Emily (Chris) Moore of Riceville, Tenn. and Jason (Kim) Barnes of Birmingham, Ala.; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Arlene (Reno) Zuber of Downey, Calif. and Helen (Bill) King of Mohave Valley, Ariz.; two brothers, Ronald Durr of Solon, Iowa and Harold (Coleen) Durr of Huntington, Ind. A brother, Russell Durr, preceded her in death. Memorials may be directed to Pleasant View Luther Home, 505 College Avenue, Ottawa, IL 61350.
