Elaine Odette (Scurti) Fuller

OTTAWA – Elaine Odette Fuller, age 85, of Ottawa, passed away at her home, Tuesday, September 19, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 at St. Columba Church with Reverend David M. Kipfer officiating.  Burial services will be private at a later date at Ottawa Avenue Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. till service time on Saturday at the church.

Elaine was born August 7, 1932 in Ottawa, the daughter of Arthur Durante and Pia “Pearl” (Vighi) Scurti.  She married Robert Lee Fuller January 25, 1954 in Crown Point, IN.  He preceded her in death April 28, 2000.  She is survived by her children, Debra Lee (William) Mucci of Ottawa and Robert Lee (Diane) Fuller, Jr. of Peoria; grandchildren, Angela Marie (Umile) Guido and great grandchild to be, baby Guido, of Westerly, Rhode Island and Mario Joseph (Danielle) Mucci of Seminole, FL; and a brother, Edward Wayne (Lois) Scurti of Byron, IL.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura  Lee Fuller Towne.

Elaine was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Naplate, where she proudly served on the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Mary’s, the church that she loved.  She was a member and past president of the American Legion Post 33 Auxiliary.  She attended St. Joseph’s School of Nursing and graduated in 1954.  Elaine had also worked at Rivershores Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Social Services.  She was a very loving woman who loved her family, cooking, and just having a good time.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to Julie, David, Tina, Sarah, Sonya, Jamie, Crystal, and Jodie from VITAS Hospice as well as her caregiver, Vira Franchetto.  Also sincere thanks to the staff of Pleasant View Hearthstone where Elaine lived from February 2016 to July of 2017.  To all of these people we will be forever grateful for loving and caring for our mom.  Your kindness and loving care for her is deeply appreciated.
