OTTAWA - Edward William "Ed" Stambaugh, 44, of Ottawa passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Reverend Duane Kaufman officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles and Michael Stambaugh, Greg and Joseph Wakefield, and Patrick and Scott Gavin. Edward was born January 22, 1967 in Aurora, Illinois, the son of Tommie William and Marie Elizabeth (Gartman) Stambaugh, . He married Laura Gavin in 1990 in Sugar Grove, Illinois. Survivors include his former wife, Laura; Sandra Wakefield his soul mate; his mother and stepfather, Marie and Frank Janosi of Bonham, TX; his father, Tommie William Stambaugh of Yorkville; his children, Charles Edward, Jessica Mae, and Michael Scott Stambaugh, all of Ottawa; his sisters, Deanna Marie Proctor of Leonard, TX, Michelle Lynn Bryant of Bonham, TX, Tamara Ann Stambaugh of Bonham, TX, and Miranda Renee Janosi, of Bonham, TX; and a brother, David Marshall Janosi of Bonham, TX; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Tommie William Stambaugh, Jr.; a sister, Talisha Marie Bryant; his maternal grandparents, Betty Jean Gartman-Ihm and Charles Edward Gartman; and his paternal grandparents, Woodrow Wilson and June Marie Stambaugh. Edward was employed at the Menard's Warehouse in Plano. He enjoyed motorcycle riding and listening to music, especially the Beatles, Kiss, the Doors, and anything classic rock. He was a fan of the Chicago Bears and also the cartoon character, the Road Runner. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
