Edward J. Partak

OTTAWA – Edward J. Partak, age 80, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016, at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Reverend David M. Kipfer officiating. Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 10:00 a.m. till service time at the funeral home.
Edward was born August 25, 1935 in Joliet, Illinois, the son of August and Margaret (Meurer) Partak. He married Linda Helle February 11, 1963 in Ottawa. She preceded him in death October 28, 2005. Surviving are his children, Susan (Ron) Marconi of Seneca and Karen (Yannick) Meillier of Lafayette, Colorado; grandchildren, Sarah and Ronald Marconi; two brothers, Dave Partak of Joliet and Dan Partak of Indiana; and two sisters, Maryann Hurstik of Joliet and Dolly Dean of North Carolina.
Edward was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church. He proudly served his country in the United State Navy as a cook. Edward had a passion for cooking and also enjoyed gardening. He loved to travel and especially loved going on cruises. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital.
