OTTAWA – Dorothy J. Stoudt, 80, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family.
Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at noon at St. Columba Church with Reverend David M. Kipfer celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Gladfelter Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
Dorothy was born October 15, 1932 in Ottawa, the daughter of George and Margaret (Fraine) Geiger. She married John A. “Tige” Stoudt May 19, 1951 at St. Columba Church in Ottawa. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John, of Ottawa; her daughters, Cynthia (Jim) Brown of Palm Dale, California and Cheryl (Burl) Leslie of Ottawa; her grandchildren, Jamie (Ryan) Cosmutto of Ottawa and Jon (Laurie) Leslie of Marseilles; great grandchildren, Gabrielle and Nicholas Cosmutto; one sister, Sandra (Jim) Reinmann; and her brothers, George, Ken and Jerry (Ellen) Geiger all of Ottawa. She was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Anselme; two brothers, Robert and Paul Geiger; and two sons in infancy.
Dorothy was a member of St. Columba Church for many years as well as belonging to the Catholic Daughters. She also was a member of A.A.R.P. Dorothy loved her travels to Minnesota and fishing there with her husband and their many Minnesota friends. She also loved their travels to Florida and California. Her other pastimes included reading, baking, cooking, playing cards, going for coffee with friends and golfing. Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Columba Church Building Fund.
