Doris L. (Chapman) (Wickenhauser) Stalter

January 4, 1933 — October 12, 2015

CLINTON – Doris L. (Chapman) Stalter, age 82, of Clinton, passed away at 12:07 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2015 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 19th at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home in Heyworth with Rev. C. Don Ferrill officiating.  Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Clinton.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. till time of service at the funeral home.

Doris was born January 4, 1933 in Wapella, Illinois, the daughter of Louis Otis and Pearl Aileen (Green) Wickenhauser.  She married Edward Chapman November 24, 1953 in Clinton.  Ed preceded her in death September 8, 1984.  Doris later married Kenneth Stalter November 6, 1987 in Clinton.  She is survived by her husband Ken of Clinton; two daughters, Vicki (John) Roetker of Ottawa, IL, and Sherry (Robert) Chapman of Clinton.  She also leaves four grandchildren, Megan (Anthony) DeFazio, Alison Roetker, Matthew Chapman and Jordan (fiance Erica Rohwer) Roetker; five great-grandchildren, Ethan Farr, Laila, Giana and Vincent DeFazio and Ehvilynn Chapman; and two brothers, Don (Jackie) Wickenhauser of El Paso and Larry (Nancy) Wickenhauser of Heyworth.  Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ed, and three brothers, Mike, Dick and Jim Wickenhauser.

Doris was a member of First Christian Church in Clinton.  She retired in 2000 after serving for over 33 years as a secretary for Wilson-Reeves Chrysler Plymouth in Clinton. In earlier years she enjoyed family camping and boating trips with Ed and the girls.  In later years she and Ken enjoyed music, dancing, and going on numerous senior trips. Doris dearly loved spending time with her family and many friends.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the “apples of her eye!”   She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Memorial contributions to the DeWitt County Friendship Center in Clinton would be most appreciated.
