OTTAWA - Doris Lawyer, age 87, of Ottawa, passed away at 1:05 a.m. Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Pleasant View. Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Oakwood Memorial Park with Committal Services at Noon. A Memorial Service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant View with Rev. Dustin L. Anderson officiating. Gladfelter Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Doris was born March 10, 1922 at Marseilles, Illinois, a daughter of Henry Joseph and Nellie (Wynn) Jacobs. She married Basil George Lawyer February 16, 1947 at the First Methodist Church in Ottawa. He preceded her in death July 7, 1992. She is survived by three sons, Dale (Kathy) Lawyer of Oglesby, George Lawyer of Newark and Wayne Lawyer of Utica. She also leaves five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Henry Jacobs and a sister Mary Turner. Doris was a member of the Women of the Moose, LaSalle Arts and Crafts and was a volunteer at Ottawa Regional Hospital and Healthcare Center.
