Donald Eugene "Scotty" Scott, 86, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Pleasant View Home in Ottawa. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Gladfelter Funeral Home. Private interment with Military rites will be in Oakhill Cemetery, Utica. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Donald was born August 13, 1922 at Peoria, Illinois, a son of Thomas and Bessie Wheeler (Goodman) Scott. He married Elizabeth R. "Betty" Cremin August 28, 1942. She preceded him in death May 1, 2005. He is survived by his children, Roger Scott (Debra) of Westchester, Illinois and Debra Olson of Aurora, Illinois. He also leaves a grandson, Travis Olson of Minneapolis, Minnesota. His parents, brother, Robert Huffstodt and son-in-law, Travis Olson preceded him in death. Mr. Scott was a retired supervisor of Libbey-Owens Ford Glass. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Okinawa and Leyte Island. He was awarded two Bronze Stars and two Purple Hearts. Donald dearly loved his family and spending time with them. In his spare time, he enjoyed working around his home and in the yard.
