Diane G. Sanders

Diane G. Sanders, age 79, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Memorial services will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, February 14th at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home with Jane Schomas officiating. Interment will follow in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon until service time Tuesday. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

Diane was born September 26, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of Anton and Ann (Zavilla) Grygienc. She married Charles A. "Chuck" Sanders June 20, 1970 at St. Adelbert's Church in Chicago. Diane is survived by Chuck, her loving husband of 52 years; children, Adam (Gina) Sanders and Dr. Wendy Sanders. She also leaves grandchildren, Alec Sanders, Genevieve Sanders, Aidan Sanders, Elena Ruston, Brennan Sanders, Aubrey Maubach and Max Maubach; and a brother, Larry Grygienc. Diane was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Grygienc.

Diane was a graduate of Loyola University. She had been employed as office manager for Dr. Richard Gelbuda from 1978 to 2008. She had been a member of the Ottawa Business and Professional Women, and was active in the Reddick Mansion Association for 24 years, starting as docent chair and later as a board member and served two years as president. Diane and Chuck loved to travel. The most treasured time in her life was that spent with her family, particularly her grandchildren.
