Dean A. Szobar

Dean A. Szobar, age 61, of Ottawa, passed away Monday, August 28, 2023 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.

Per Dean's wishes, there will be no visitation or services, cremation rites were accorded.

Dean was born January 12, 1962 in Ottawa, Illinois, a son of Stephen and Diane (Wilson) Szobar. He married Ann Murray on October 24, 1994 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Surviving are his wife, Ann; his children, Dean Szobar, Jr., Bruce Szobar and Hannah (Jason) Konrad; grandchildren, Angela Szobar, Patricia Konrad, Thomas Konrad and Asher Andrew Konrad. He also leaves brothers, Steve and Jeff Szobar; and a sister, Kathy "Rose" (Nick) Durec. Dean was preceded in death by his parents.

Dean proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and had been employed as a truck driver. He enjoyed watching car races, cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals and spending time with his family.
