Dean Guy

Dean Guy, age 51, of Ottawa, entered into eternal rest Saturday, December 28, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 31st at Ottawa First Church of the Nazarene.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. till service time Tuesday at the church. Gladfelter Funeral Home is honored to handle arrangements.

Dean was born September 17, 1962 in Denver, Colorado, a son of William Aaron and Diane Lynette (Coon) Guy.  He married Gloria Ludwig on May 28, 1988 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.  Dean is survived by his loving wife, Gloria; his daughters, Kayla (Dale) Stoops of Terre Haute, Indiana and Kelsey Guy of Carbondale, Illinois; and a granddaughter, Ella Stoops.  He also leaves his parents, William and Diane Guy of Loveland, Colorado; a brother, Damon (Jane) Guy and their daughter Emma of Erie, Colorado; Gloria’s parents, Paul and Irene Ludwig of West Chicago, Illinois; and her siblings, Marlin (Sherrie) Ludwig, Marcia (Bill) Wright, Keith (Lorie) Ludwig, Karen (Mike) Hillenbrand, Glenna (Jon) Gabriele, Dawn Blair and David (Sarah) Ludwig; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Dean was preceded in death by his grandparents, an uncle, Don Guy and a brother-in-law, Kip Blair.

Dean attended Ottawa First Church.  He had been employed as a land surveyor with Intech Consultants in Downers Grove.  Dean was an avid lover of the outdoors and enjoyed bike riding, snow skiing, hiking, repelling and spelunking.  Leisure time would find Dean shopping, dining out or enjoying a movie.  He dearly treasured his family and time spent with them.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Ottawa First Church of the Nazarene.
