NORWAY – Danny R. James, age 56, of Norway, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 of natural causes.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2018 at Gladfelter Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the funeral home with Reverend Dick Ewing officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the Ottawa American Legion Post 33 Veterans Group Honor Guard.
Danny was born June 13, 1961 in St. Louis, MO, the son of David and Pearl (Livingston) James. He is survived by his fiancé, Elaine Stemas of Norway; his mother, Pearl Marshall and her husband, Randy of Arizona; a son, Justin James of Wyoming; stepchildren, Christina Ghiotto (Joe Cantu) and Christina’s children, Athena and Giovanni, and Derek (Randi) Ghiotto and daughter, Aria; a brother, Gary (Nancy) James of Indiana; a sister, Tracy James of Arizona; nieces, Heather (Sebastion) Smelko and their children, Vivienne and Giavanna Smelko, and Holly (Colt) Hyatt; nephew, Ashton James of Arizona; and Elaine’s parents, Nick and Delores Stemas. Danny was preceded in death by his father, David James.
Danny proudly served his country in the United States Army. Danny was employed by Trane as a generator technician and was the “Go To” guy when it came to anything pertaining to generators. He had a passion for fishing which resulted in him becoming a professional fisherman for Ranger Boats. To Athena, his granddaughter, Danny was affectionately known as “Danny Boy”. He was devoted to his family, cherished his time spent with family, and wore the title of “Proud Grandpa” with honor. Danny was always there for anyone who needed him and he was a class act within himself. He will be truly missed by those whose lives he touched.
