Connie Armstrong

LA SALLE - Connie Armstrong, age 64, of LaSalle, formerly of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at her residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2012, at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa with Reverend Joseph Donton celebrating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with prayers at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Josh, Robert, Mickey, and Andrew Armstrong, Bill Barth, and Charlie Farrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Steele, Desarae Welsh, Breanna Anderson, Nicole and Blair Armstrong. Connie was born January 15, 1948 in Ottawa, a daughter of Thomas Martin "Ty" and Beatrice Mary (Posner) Farrell. She married Bernard E. "Benny" Armstrong on April 27, 1968 at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa. He preceded her in death April 17, 2004. She is survived by her children, Thomas (Tammy) Armstrong of Concord, NC, Patrick (Sheri) Armstrong of Wedron, and Becky Farrell of Streator; sisters, Sandra (David) Crosiar of Utica, Ruth A. Schierholz of Moline, Rose Barth of Ottawa, Kathy (Raymond II) Sibert of Ottawa, Penny ("Moose") West of Cherokee Village, AK, and Alice (Marlin) Green of Ottawa; her grandchildren, Charlie (Courtney) Farrell, Desarae (Steele) and Josh Welsh, Tyler Steele, Josh Armstrong, Breanna Anderson, and Robert, Nicole, Mickey, and Blair Armstrong.; and her great grandchildren, Miah Farrell, Logan Farrell, Madison Welsh, and Kirsten Trivett. Her parents and one sister, Anita Mason, preceded her in death. Connie was a member of St. Patrick's Church and Women of the Moose. She enjoyed her two puppies, crocheting, playing Bingo, eating out, and being on the computer, especially the time spent with her Facebook friends.
