Christophor Richard "Strobes" Strobel

OTTAWA – Christophor Richard “Strobes” Strobel, 36, of Ottawa passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012 in Ottawa.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2012 at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Reverend Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening, May 10, 2012 at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers will be Timmy Darif, Mathew Stafford, Aron Moore, Terry Muffler, Bryan Fowler, Derek Marconi, Ryan Muffler, and Ray Guiner.

Christophor was born May 26, 1975 in Ottawa, a son of Richard “Rick” and Debbie (Vignochi) Strobel. He married Molly Nodland March 18, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is survived by his wife, Molly, of Ottawa; his parents, Rick and Jamie (Gerald) Strobel and Debbie and Larry Knott, all of Ottawa; his children, Sophia and Stone, at home; brothers Travis (Rachel Marino) Knott and their son, Deacon, of Ottawa and Corey Knott, of Ottawa; brothers in-law, Joseph (Novaleen) Nodland of Ottawa and Dean Nodland and his children, Jessica, Payton, and Skylar, of Ottawa; sisters, Sydney and Savannah Strobel of Ottawa; his grandfather, Lyle Strobel, of Ottawa; and his mother and father in-law, Jodene and Gary White, of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Alice Vignochi and his paternal grandmother, Laura Strobel.

Christophor was a member of the Ottawa Moose Lodge. He was a member of Ironworkers Local 444 of Joliet. He loved computers, particularly working on them and designing web pages. He enjoyed playing baseball and played on the SIP’s softball team. Chris dearly loved his wife, children, and family and cherished his time spent with them. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Friends of Chris Strobel in care of the Ottawa YMCA or a charity of the donor’s choice.
