OTTAWA - Chad A. Johnson, age 26, of Sheboygan, WI, formerly of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Ottawa First Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Warren Hilderbrand and Pastor Brian Wangler officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ottawa First Church of the Nazarene. Pallbearers will be Mitch, Curt, and Curtis Johnson, Rick Griggs, Jack and Daniel Kelley, Tom Bohm and C.J. Zielke. Gladfelter Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements. Chad was born September 30, 1985 in Peru, Illinois, a son of Jeff A. and Jennifer (Kelley) Johnson. He is survived by his parents of Ottawa; his brother, Mitch, of Ottawa; his sister, Laura, of Ottawa; his grandparents, Lloyd and Mae Johnson of Ottawa and Jim and Linda Kelley of Scio, OH; great grandparents Betty Smith of Bowerston OH and Earl Smith of Hopedale OH; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his promised sweetheart and the love of his life, Brittany Bohm of Oostburg WI. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Ted and Anna Johnson, William and Mary Kelley, and Bessie and Estelle Lilly; his aunt, Beth Johnson, and his cousin, David Griggs. Chad attended Ottawa First Church of the Nazarene and was a student at Lakeland College in Sheboygan WI studying business management. He enjoyed woodworking, collecting antiques and drawing. He was a lover of all sports and prided himself in being an avid Cubs fan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Chad Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund for Oncology Nursing Education.
