Cathy Weiss

SHERIDAN - Cathy Weiss, age 49, of Sheridan, passed away at 2:31 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Praise Center Assembly of God, 3040 East 18th Road, Ottawa, with Pastor Raymond Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Norway Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Gladfelter Funeral Home. Cathy was born December 21, 1960 in Elmhurst, Illinois, a daughter of Charles Edward and Catherine Joyce (Green) Wojak. She married John N. Weiss September 5, 1981 in Glendale Heights, Illinois. She is survived by her husband, John; sons, David (Jennifer) Weiss of Plainfield, James Weiss of Sheridan, Paul Friede of Ottawa and Nathan Weiss of Sheridan. She also leaves two brothers, Charles "Chip" (Joyce) Wojak of Plano and Craig Wojak of Poplar Grove; and a grandson, Ashton Jordan "A.J." Weiss. She was preceded in death by her parents. Cathy was a member of and employed as administrative assistant at Praise Center Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed reading, working with crafts and swimming. The time she treasured most was that spent with her family, especially her grandson. Memorial contributions may be directed to Missions at Praise Center Assembly of God Church, to a charity of the donor's choice, or to the family.
