Bonita L. (Turley) Hardt

Bonita L. Hardt, age 72, of Ottawa, passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 at Parker Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Streator.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Reverend Duane Kaufman officiating.  Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Bonita was born September 1, 1943 in Chicago, the daughter of Thomas and Florence (Janke) Turley.  She married Richard Hardt February 19, 1971 in Oak Park, Illinois.  Bonita is survived by her son, Kevin (Cim) Hardt of Ottawa; grandchildren, Garrett, Nicholas and Isabella Hardt; her former husband, Richard Hardt of Streamwood, IL; her brother, Patrick (Muriel) Turley of Glen Ellyn, IL: and three sisters, Bernice Ramis and Florence Reid of Gurnee, IL and Sandra (Mike) Saad of Winfield, IL.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Lynn Hardt and a sister, Mary Lynn Yarnett.

Bonita was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ottawa.  She had been employed as a receptionist at the YMCA of Ottawa and Aurora.  Bonita’s spare time would find her enjoying flower arranging and cooking.  She enjoyed volunteering and had served as treasurer of the resident council at the Stough Group Apartments.  Bonita was a doting grandmother who never missed a sporting or music event of the grandchildren.
