OTTAWA - Beverly Ann Rowney, age 77, of Ottawa, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2011 at Ottawa Regional Hospital and Healthcare Center. Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Gladfelter Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph P. Donton officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Memorial Park at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Beverly was born April 5, 1934 at Ottawa, Illinois, a daughter of Raymond and Cecelia Ruby (Corrigan) Michael. She married Robert Junior Rowney, Jr. November 4, 1950 at Steelville, IL. He preceded her in death September 18, 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Rowney of Ottawa and her children, Kristy and Evan Rowney and James Fleming II; a son, Michael (Carol) Rowney of Ottawa and their children, Robert and Andrew; and another daughter, Lori (Kevin) Maunu of Naplate and their children Michael, Matthew and Marcus; and eight great-grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Cecelia ( James) Lyons of Tonica; a brother-in-law, Arthur Rowney of Ottawa; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Rasco of Ottawa. Her parents, step-father Joseph Bayer and sisters, Patricia Bayer and Mary Ellen Michael preceded her in death. Beverly attended St. Patrick's Church and Praise Center Assembly of God. She had been involved in the American Legion Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge. Beverly enjoyed singing and playing the piano. She dearly loved her family, her grandchildren in particular. She babysat for numerous families and was always attentive in loving and caring for children in need. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
