Beverly M. Rice

Beverly M. (Stevens) Rice, 78, of Ottawa died November 13, 2008. Funeral services will be at 6:00 p.m. Saturday at Gladfelter Funeral Home with the Rev. David M. Kipfer officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Honorary Pallbearers will be her six sons. Mrs. Rice was born October 6, 1930 in Ottawa to Henry William and Ida Mae (Rossiter) Stevens. She is survived by six sons, Dallas H. (Jami), Dewey D. and Garnie D. Rice all of Ottawa, John M. "Jack" of Des Moines, Iowa, Daniel L. (Carolyn) of Pennsylvania and Joseph A. (Beverly) of Knoxville, Tenn.; a daughter, Kathy J. (Dennis) Duffy of Ottawa; 17 grandchildren of which two were reared by Mrs. Rice, James E. (Kay) Rice and Arlie J. (Colleen) Rice both of Ottawa; 19 great grandchildren; a sister, Patricia (Jesse) Guerrero of Ottawa; and three brothers, William (Lou), Gerald (Joan) and Robert (Pam) Stevens all of Ottawa. She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Gayla Rice and Debra Rice in infancy; and a sister Darlene Stevens. She was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of America. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
